The Challenge
BCA Europe were looking to migrate one of their most complex applications into AWS.
They were facing a number of issues with application performance, and brought Epitechnic in to analyse the application and propose solutions to the issues they were experiencing.
Additionally, they engaged Epitechnic to provide architectural assurance for their cloud migration efforts.
The Solution
Epitechnic performed an analysis of their application using an application performance management tool to identify and assess the issues that BCA was facing.
Epitechnic also used the AWS Well-Architected Framework to assess BCA’s cloud solution and migration efforts against AWS best practises.
The Result
Epitechnic delivered a well-constructed view of the key challenges in a very short space of time. We focusing not only on performance issues but also on BCA’s ability to run the application on horizontally scalable cloud infrastructure that could be instantly implemented.
The recommendations contained proposals of practical solutions that the technical team then implemented, and this resulted in a visible improvement in performance of the application.
Epitechnic engaged with the in-house AWS cloud team to collect information, and following the AWS Well-Architected Framework, we created a report detailing observations and recommendations that BCA was then able to implement.
